What to see in Assisi
Assisi is the typical Umbrian town perched on top of a hill on the slopes of Mount Subasio, small and compact. Furthermore, it has remained almost unchanged over the centuries. Despite its not very large dimensions, it can be defined as a city due to its importance in history, especially of the Catholic Church.
From here the journey of St. Francis and his reforming thrust of the Vatican started. The numerous churches in the city, such as the Basilica of San Francesco or small, bear witness to this. These, along with miraculous places and numerous crypts, attract millions of visitors every year, also because in these places people of the caliber of Giotto have left their works.
